After I released the Disgusting Patient Episode (E#31), several people have asked me how does our childhood influence our self-identity and our adult behaviours?  

This is a very thoughtful and essential question because it's useful to answer that question for one's wellbeing and understanding. It is also incredibly helpful if you are trying to help others, especially in the clinical setting, to change specific patterns of behaviour. I also have a very important self-questionnaire at the end of the podcast that I think will serve you.  As always, I have two meaningful real-life stories that are quite compelling.  

They help illustrate the other four influencing factors that affect a child's identity.  Briefly, those are a child's role model, the language used in the interactions, the repetition of the words used, and the social context. These are different from the four factors I talked about in Episode 33.  In this episode, I'll look at influences, motivations and questions on reformatting our past experiences and helping others do the same. I'm confident this will be very interesting and informative. The stories are quite interesting, one from when I was a teenager and another from my clinical practice.
