Holly Root is one of the most prominent and sought-after literary agents in America. She has a well-established list of clients and sales in middle grade and young adult fiction, women's fiction (both commercial and upmarket), urban fantasy and romance. Her reputation among others in the publishing world is that she's a delight to work with, exceptionally bright, and very successful in her work. 

 

Before she became an agent, Holly worked in Christian publishing and then at the William Morris Agency and Trident Media Group. She lived in New York for many years before moving to Los Angeles to lead the Waxman Leavell Agency there. Her husband Jonathan is an actor and they have two adorable sons who light up Instagram.

Steve Laube is president and founder of The Steve Laube Agency, and is a 35-year veteran of the bookselling industry. He began his career in the bookselling arena and his store in Phoenix was named the Christian Booksellers Association (CBA) store of the year in 1989. He then spent 11 years with Bethany House Publishers rising to the position of an editorial director.

 

In 2002 he was named the AWSA Golden Scroll Editor of the Year. The next year he became a literary agent and in 2004 formed The Steve Laube Agency. In 2009 he was named the ACFW Agent of the Year. He is married with three grown children and one grandchild.

Realizing Your Writing Dreams – Brent Hershey from USA Today/BaseballHQ

 

Author and co-director of BaseballHQ.com, Brent Hershey, checks in to share how he moved from being a subscriber to eventually directing the website and co-authoring the best-selling Baseball Forecaster every year.
