The word "Church" is used to describe those who choose to believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah and will acknowledge Him as Lord of their lives, and serve Him as King. The Church was Jesus' idea, and He is at the heart of it today. We gather together for worship and do life together, maturing as followers of Jesus and learning to cooperate with the Spirit of God more fully. It is not hard to find weaknesses in a church, Pastor Allen Jackson says, because churches are made up of people, and people are imperfect. But we are a people in transition; we are being transformed from the inside out to be more like Jesus.
