3821 Everything Starts as a Seed

Listen Later

Every journey, every success, and every change begins with a seed. Not just a physical seed planted in soil, but the unseen seeds you plant daily through your mindset, words, actions, and choices. You were created on purpose for a purpose, and living into that purpose is the real prize. What you build—your relationships, your business, your character—everything starts as a seed, and it requires intentionality for it to grow.

The truth is simple: you will harvest what you sow. The seeds you plant today become the outcomes you face tomorrow. That’s why it’s critical to focus on planting the right seeds and nurturing them wisely.

Seeds come in many forms. There are positive seeds, such as kindness, faith, integrity, and perseverance.

And then there are toxic seeds such as gossip, greed, and negativity.

Here’s the catch: all seeds take time to grow. You don’t plant a seed in the ground and expect immediate fruit. It takes seasons of dedication and patience before you can reap the harvest.

Biblical wisdom reminds us in Ecclesiastes 11:6, “Keep on sowing your seed, for you never know which will grow—perhaps it all will.”

This verse is not just spiritual encouragement but a practical life principle. You keep investing in what matters, even when results aren’t immediate, because eventually, something will flourish.

You must focus on the seed you want to sow.

But that takes more than just figuring it out all on your own. I do believe God leaves clues, but you must be willing to lean in to what He desires for you. Stop running. Stop hiding. Choose to cultivate the right harvest.

So how do you ensure you’re cultivating the right harvest? What can you do to care for the seeds you are tending to so that what grows will be good, strong, and worth harvesting? Here are three essential actions:

  1. Plant with Intentionality Don’t scatter seeds blindly. Be clear about the values and actions you want to cultivate in your life, and that includes your business. Every choice you make—whether it’s how you speak to others, what habits you form, or what projects you start—is planting a seed. Choose seeds that align with your purpose and the legacy you want to leave behind. Intentional planting means you’re not reactive; you’re purposeful.

  2. Nurture Consistently Seeds don’t grow overnight, and they won’t grow without care. This means consistent effort and attention. Nurture the relationships, skills, and habits that support your goals. Show kindness regularly, build trust consistently, and hone your craft persistently. This steady nurturing creates strong roots that withstand storms. When you’re patient and consistently feed your seeds with positivity and hard work, growth occurs.

  3. Protect Your Garden Not every seed deserves your energy. Guard your space from weeds like negativity, comparison, and toxic influences that choke out healthy growth. Be selective about what thoughts, people, and activities you allow to take root in your life. Pruning what doesn’t serve your vision creates room for your good seeds to thrive fully.

Remember, the harvest you experience tomorrow depends on the seeds you plant and tend today. Maybe you’re frustrated waiting to see results. That’s normal. Trust the process. Keep sowing the seeds of integrity, faith, effort, and kindness.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to harvest..."

You were created for a purpose. That means the seeds you plant are not random—they have the potential to grow into something meaningful to the point where you go out and impact the world you touch.

Keep acting with purpose. Keep your mind grounded in faith, patience, and belief. Keep your actions consistent with the harvest you want. Because everything starts as a seed.

"Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!"
