39 | Endgame & 2020 Texas Gladiators

Listen Later

There are times in life when the world sucks so bad that the only way to feel better is to watch movies where the world sucks even more. Cue the post-apocalyptic genre. Rampant in the 70s/80s, these films all shared one common theme - a nuke was dropped and society has dissolved into chaos, usually in the middle of some barren wasteland. This week, we cover two perfect examples of the genre, both by the man with 126 directing credits to his name - Joe D'Amato.

From 1983, Endgame focuses on a TV game show where a group of hunters tracks down a lone hopeful survivor. But what happens when mutants are added to the equation? Also, from 1983, 2020 Texas Gladiators answers the age-old question - what if nazis came to Texas?

We want to hear from our listeners. What show ideas would you like us to explore? Are there any films you'd like us to cover? Do you have a passion for film and want to get it out, or have a podcast/YouTube channel and want to collaborate? Well, we want to chat, so message us on X to get the conversation rolling.

Follow us on X for more movie talk and let us know which films you'd like us to discuss in future episodes.
