Listen Later

Live from GasTech 2024 with Ben Seligson here in Houston.  Ben is a podcaster, marketer, and natural connector who shares his journey from college radio to industrial marketing. He and Reena dive into the world of networking, the importance of local radio, and the challenges of engaging young talent in advanced manufacturing.

Ben recounts how he met Mark Lacour and his experiences at the Houston Marketing Alliance. He also opens up about his time at KVRX 91.7 FM in Austin, Texas, where he hosted a specialized radio show called "Lone Star Lullabies."

The conversation takes an interesting turn as Reena shares her own radio background and her time working for the Jerry Springer Show, revealing some behind-the-scenes stories that are both shocking and entertaining.

The episode also touches on the future of industrial marketing, the role of XR and animation, and the importance of being present and building relationships in the industry. Ben and Reena discuss the challenges of attracting younger talent to advanced manufacturing and the potential solutions involving technology and digital solutions.
Reena's dad, Wayne Friedman, weighs in with his wisdom on the topic, offering insights from his decades of experience in manufacturing and the importance of finding and nurturing talent.
