You're not alone in feeling overwhelmed.
You want to work on your goals, you want to make progress, but everything just ends up feeling like "more", and you can't do MORE right now.
You're at capacity and you've reached your limits. There's simply no more time for anything whatsoever. Every moment is accounted for, and it's not like you can just get rid of things: everything seems immovable.
Responsibilities, tasks, and demands pile up. So many things rely upon you and you alone. You have to be there. You have to show up.
There's no time for "more". It doesn't matter how nice it would be to pursue something new—you simply can't add anything to your plate. The frustrating thing is the same goals for your goals. Your goals and ambitions have to take a back seat, because you're simply surviving right now. You're just trying to get by from day to day.
To say nothing of your energy! Rather, your lack of energy.
There's simply not a single drop of energy left by the time you reach the end of your day. If you're lucky, you'll collapse on the couch, or in bed, and catch a few minutes of a TV show or social media just to unwind. You need that time. That's your decompress time. Life is too crazy not to have it. You've got to get those few minutes of escape before your head hits the pillow and you wake up and do it all over again.
How does it sound like I'm reading your mind? Because I've been there. I'm not mind reader. I've just been exactly where you are right now.
I have very good news: it doesn't have to stay that way. There is hope. There is a future for you where life isn't like this—and that isn't a future you have to wait for. No, it doesn't come after things at work die down, it doesn't come after the kids move out, it doesn't come when you "have more time". It's here, right now, for the taking, and you can have it.
Getting this new reality will take some major changes. You will have to make adjustments. This is a process—it's not something that happens overnight. But change is possible and life can get better.
