This is mainly new releases from 2021, predominantly on vinyl, aside from a couple of bits which are digital-only, played on my trusty CDJ100 from about 2001, burned to CD in old-school style! This is another addition to the "Nod to..." series of mixes I've done over the last year & a bit, initially inspired by sorting out loads of my vinyl & deciding I'd do some mixes that are focused on artists or labels whose music had had an influence on me in the time I've been DJing and producing. One such artist is Annie Errez, whose "Bell Curve" track is one of my favourite pieces of house music, it's an absolute go-to track for me & closes this mix in its bassy, bleepy, deep goodness. One of the reasons I love Annie's stuff is that there is real variety, so the tracks range from stripped-back dub through to percussive house, all turned out with real depth. I hope this mix does the tracks justice; as usual, this is a one-take recording, using predominantly vinyl, plus one digital cut played on my trusty old CDJ100! Despite there being no clubs open for the majority of 2020, it was a brilliant year for music to be played in them - I can't wait for them to reopen, as I've got so much mint stuff to be played, could do a 7-day vinyl set! Anyway, this 2-hour mix highlights some of my favourite vinyl purchases from 2020, covering deep house (the proper stuff, not what Beatport think it is...), acid, minimal-esque bits, heavier tech-edged sounds - regardless of the genre, essentially it's just a selection of quality electronic music & that's all which matters! I've also stuck in a couple of my own upcoming 12"s, both due out in the next few weeks, as a little exclusive.

One artist who'd work I arrived a little late to is Simon Hinter, whose "Nomina EP" I picked up on Tenth Circle in 2014. From that point, I checked his catalogue, grabbed what I could & have gradually added his releases to my collection, up to his most recent release for Quintessentials in 2020 - they all have an intricate, deep feeling, warm keys over cleverly programmed drums & basslines, really giving Simon's sound a unique flavour. If you don't know his stuff, then this gives a solid grounding, much of it has been released on the excellent Phil Records from Holland, I'd seriously advise checking it all out though :)
