Joy, KC the Alchemist and Clo delve into this age-old, tired trope of the "masculine" Black woman. We are STILL having this conversation, sometimes without saying a word, in the year of our Lord and Savior, Black Jesus 2021. Black women are also socialized, for the most part, to get a job
not a husband. And to be able to provide for ourselves. But we get called masculine or too hard if we're too independent. Then conversely, we get called needy or gold diggers if the expectations of a man are too high. Listen, we may not
need a man but most of us
want a man in our lives. We may or may not need help with the lift, but it sure would be nice! Let's keep pulling this thread. Men, what's up? Add your two pennies as well.
