Acts 15 introduces us to the first major doctrinal dissension in the early church and the manner in which they overcame it to preserve the unity of the Spirit.
We address the question: Are debates and dissensions worth it? What issues are worthy of dissent and perhaps division? How do we navigate the complexity of human fallenness in handling divisions?
We examine how to lay the right foundation, rightly divide the word of truth, discern the weight of an issue, and define God's standard through the authority of scripture, the witness of history/experience, and the stature of leadership.
