3.Why Every Man Should Do Inner Child Exercises (And How to Get Started)

Hello and welcome to our podcast on why every man should do inner child exercises and how to get started. Today, I will share a personal story about my experience with inner child work, why I believe every man should do these exercises, and give you three simple exercises to get started.

Growing up, I had a lot of painful experiences that left me feeling disconnected from myself and others. It wasn't until I started doing inner child work that I began to heal and form more aligned relationships with my family and loved ones.

But let me tell you, inner child work can be challenging. It requires you to confront painful moments from your past and feel the emotions. But I can tell you from personal experience the only way through is through.

So why should every man do inner child exercises? Well, for starters, it allows you to get in touch with your feelings grounded and healthy. It also helps you to express yourself better and remove the social stigma that if men show emotions, it's weak. That's far from the truth.

So, let's dive into three inner child exercises all men need to do.

Exercise one: Grab a picture of your younger self. Pick an age when you experienced some pain. Then, every morning for 10 minutes, put a timer on and tell him everything you wish you would have heard. Allow any emotions to come up and feel them fully.

Exercise two: Pick one day out of the week when you do what you used to love as a child. For example, I used to love eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch while watching Dragon Ball Z. This exercise will bring you a whole heart and reconnect you with your inner child.

Exercise three: Do inner child meditations. Here are some that I recommend:

  • The Loving Kindness Meditation

  • The Inner Child Meditation

  • The Forgiveness Meditation

  • A connection with your inner child will give you a deeper understanding and relationship with all sides of yourself. In addition, it will allow you to bring more play and presence into your life once you are in tune with your little self.
