Sorry Tom - move aside. My deep connection with animals started as a child. I grew up with a menagerie of pets. Wild and domestic. From my pet pug Spunky to garden snakes, my parents even got me flock of homing pigeons. The fascination with animals and their unique personalities and behaviors might explain why I always have one around me, or am studying them from afar. There are many reasons for why we’re hard wired to love our pets but I like to think it’s simply because they love us back.
