The Empath Mom

4: Quiet Enough to Listen ft. Giselle Argañaráz

Listen Later

In this episode Kristy sits down with Giselle Argañaráz, an artist and special education teacher's assistant who has a heart for activism and being a voice for change. Giselle (also known as Gigi) and Kristy discuss what it means to be white &  Latinx, their role in the fight for social justice and what anti-racism and activism can look like even when you are not able to be on the front lines. This is what Kristy calls an  "in depth start" to an ongoing conversation on examining ones privilege, dismantling outdated institutions and being able to step aside and amplify the voices of  marginalized communities.

You can connect with Gigi on instagram @creativelab4blm where she is accepting submissions of artistic expressions in support of #BlackLivesMatter
