Sometimes I come across a little tidbit that I like to call an SLP SNACK! It is a shorter version of my regular podcast that offers bite sized information that I feel is interesting and worth a discussion.

Due to the current pandemic we are facing, many children are not receiving speech and language therapy. I was speaking with Mrs. Speechie P and we discussed the various ways speech and language can be facilitated at home with strictly home supplies - nothing fancy. Mrs. Speechie P brought up the great idea of using a box. I loved this idea because I am sure there are many boxes arriving into peoples homes right now from frantic amazon and Costco orders. 

I discuss 6 activities you can do at home with any box to help facilitate and develop speech and language. These activities can be modified however you see fit to target the needs and goals of your specific child. Ensure turn taking is occurring during the activities and remember to model what you want to see in your child so they can have lots of examples. The activities discussed will each target instructions, prepositions, pretend play and speech.
