If you've been around the self-development or entrepreneurial space, you know all about the extreme focus on positivity and gratitude. As good as the intentions are, anything out of moderation can become bad for you. For Cole, excessive positivity resulted in damaged relationships, self depreciating thoughts, and feeling lost when it came to his mental health. He thought he was broken and because of that he needed to compensate with extreme positivity and gratitude. In this episode, Cole breaks down his experiences and shares his thoughts on toxic positivity and emotional avoidance.
