About our 4th episode...
Sean says: I saw The Hunger when it was released in 26BCE. The groovy 80's nightclub seemed like just a nightclub. I hadn't heard Bela Lugosi is Dead 300M times. And even though there is nothing but organza blowing in the breeze and vertical shadows from endless Venetian blinds owning every shot, The Hunger is awesome and will forever have a love scene between Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon. And a scene where David Bowie ages decades while a cigarette burns in a lobby ashtray where smoking isn't even allowed. There is a lot to recommend this vampire movie but it's not everyone's cup of blood. A more romantic movie about murder from a more romantic time of murder.
Montetré says: I read the book. The movie is alright. I read the book. Bowie is super cool and all, but I liked him better as Warhol. I read the book. There's way more nudity in this than I remember. I read the book. Holy cow, can this movie pick a lane? I read this book. I see touches of genius throughout this movie, but I read the book. The book is pretty awful, too.
