As Mary miraculously becomes pregnant with Jesus, she takes a journey to her relative Elizabeth who is 6 months pregnant herself with John the Baptist. Mary needs to be encouraged and Elizabeth is the one to help her through the early days of pregnancy as we see Mary move from anxiety to acceptance. Mary probably spoke of all her earthly concerns with questions like: Will people believe me? How will I tell my fiancé Joseph? Why do I feel like I'm going crazy? What will my dad say? What will the townspeople say? And when Mary leaves Elizabeth she will be encouraged to know that God has a plan and even though it was never what Mary imagined - she will truly be favored by God.
