Davida Sweeney is a wife, mother, and co-founder of the non-profit organisation, The Generous and The Grateful, an Australian-based charity that sources pre-loved essential household items to help people rebuild their lives after tragedy and trauma.
Born and raised in southern Spain, married to an Australian and currently residing in Bali with her husband and 3 children, Davida is a self-confessed “kindness connector”. In 2019 alone The Generous and The Grateful organisation re-directed 94 tonnes of household essential items from unnecessary landfill, they have furnished 2 properties for women’s community shelters from re-purposed goods, converted 406 empty rental housing into safe and inviting homes, which has provided shelter for almost 900 people who are rebuilding their lives. Inspiring and impressive, simply put, The Generous and The Grateful are in the business of connecting kindness and providing a community to those that have lost theirs.
In this week's episode, Davida is with me to share her experiences, challenges, and hopes for the future.
