Have you ever wondered if you're underpaid? That's the question that Erin and Nicole ponder and tackle in this week's episode. Erin Hatzikostas and Nicole Licata Grant kick off by telling their classic Christmas comedies from this year. Erin talks about the stresses leading up to Christmas and the issues that ensue after their 3-year-old cousin barfs all over their couch on Christmas Day. But it's fine she hasn't lost her Christmas Spirit (We think...) Nicole brags about her CVS "status" and avails that she takes regular Sunday night trips to her local store. She discloses that she has a CVS BFF, Evelyn, and the wisdom Evelyn imparts on Nicole as she drives her to her bus stop after Evelyn's shift. Continuing on to more serious topics, Nicole discusses feeling undervalued at work. Using this to open up to a wider perspective, Erin talks through some ideas on what to do when you feel your paycheck doesn't reflect your value or compare fairly with your colleagues. They talk real-life scenarios at work for approaching discussions over pay, including the ins and outs of some corporate structures. Erin coaches Nicole base don her experience working with her CFO to examine employee pay and levels, giving us ALL the inside scoop on the topic of pay in the workplace. But what if the person at the other end of the conversation just sayd, "no"? Erin talks you through the conversation and where to go from there (hint, it will be ok.) Towards the end of the show, you are left with an extremely pressing matter...one of utmost urgency. A question for the ages. If you could pick a word of the year, what would it be?
