8-month pregnant, Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind disappeared within her own apartment building. Her daughter was ripped from Savanna's womb and Savanna's body was discarded. Her death shifted law enforcement policy pertaining to Native Americans with the introduction of Savanna's Act in 2019.
