Pt 1:

Ten year old Candace Newmaker grew up in an unstable and abusive home, and was eventually sent to live in a foster home. Her luck seemed to change when a well-to-do single nurse adopted her. Candace’s difficult behavior caused her new mother to sign her up for a controversial therapy. A therapist in Colorado promised a new life for the duo, but one of them would never make it home from treatment in this horrific story.
