Further, students want outcomes that support emotional and mental health, as well as financial stability. Higher education’s sluggish response to this cultural shift has led some to seek out alternate paths beyond the walls of higher ed, like YouTube. Yes, YouTube. It’s not that more traditional pathways don’t exist; it’s that higher ed masks them behind an unnecessarily complex wall of terminology that frustrates and ultimately disaffects potential students. Wake up, higher ed!
