I was once asked to give my general advice on relationships. I could sum it up into this: 

Be brave, be honest, walk away and never look back if there are red flags, you're good on your own until you meet a person of value, be generous, be respectful, its ok to fight as long as it gets better, and you miss 100% of the shots you don't try; what would your 80 year old self say?
