Hillsborough County Deputy Manuel Santos and Corporal Carlos Brito both suffered severe injuries when they responded to a call in Brandon Florida after a mother called in with concerns for her son. The deputies talked briefly with the suspect who then fled in a vehicle, only to return to the scene. The suspect hit the gas pedal, and struck both deputies-- one of whom remains hospitalized with potentially life and career changing injuries.
