We go to medical school because we are committed to serving our community.
Along the way, we accumulate a lot of debt. We're often told not to worry about the money, that we'll make enough and we'll be okay. And, very rarely are we intentionally taught how and what to do about money.
In fact, almost the opposite is true.
As women, we're socialized to not talk about money, that discussing money is rude. And, if you were raised by parents in traditional gender roles, you may have also been taught that men deal with finances, not women.
This is why we experience not just a gender pay gap, but also, the money confidence gender gap.
Women tend to be less confident and less comfortable managing money.
This week's podcast guest, Dr. Latifat, is on a mission to change that.
