Today, I’d like to share a resource with all of you that I’ve been following for well over 6 months now, and which has been helping me immensely. Alisa Vitti’s book, In The FLO, is simply amazing as it demonstrates how we can take back control, and in fact leverage, our hormones and our cycles to actually have more energy and focus, and less anxiety, bloating, and all those other less than positive aspects. For far too long, we’ve been told to simply accept that we will feel shitty during our periods, but today, the work of hormone guru and period whisperer, Alisa Vitti, demonstrates that this isn’t the case at all, and that, in order to enjoy greater long term health, we can and need to understand and exert control over our cycles. The book’s Cycle Syncing system is all about not settling anymore for all that we have been taught in the past about our hormones, and it has become a bible for me - I feel certain that it will for you as well. If you are a woman who is beyond her reproductive years, you will still learn from this episode as I discuss how your body can thrive too.
I begin by examining the traditional reasons that women have been suffering for so long in this area, and go on to introduce infradian rhythm and the 6 key systems of the body over which it governs. I also go into some depth about the 4 phases which Alisa identifies, and share her recommendations for planning nutrition, workouts, and work during each phase. These recommendations reflect the underlying message that men and women have different biological and hormonal rhythm and, as such, we cannot continue to address each of these areas the same, regardless of what we have been taught in the past. At the end I also introduce some of the other areas that Alisa covers in her book, and briefly describe the MyFLO Tracker app that I use as well.
As always, and especially as we head into the Fall and all that entails, if you feel that you need additional support or just want to chat, please feel free to send me an email at [email protected] or DM me at https://www.instagram.com/kellythealth/ or join my free FB group The Goal-Getter’s Club at https://www.facebook.com/groups/goalgettersclubkellythealth/
