Donald Trump has imposed a 125% tariff on China in response to the country's retaliation.

The Unconventional Economist, Leith van Onselen, told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, "It started off with a month ago tariff of I think it was 10% or something. Then it went to it went to 30 odd and then he jacked it up another 50."

"And it's in response because China keeps retaliating."

"But the problem with it is that this is really problematic for Australia because one-third of Australia's exports go to China. So China is our biggest export market by far," Mr van Onselen continued.

Pucovski was considered the best batting talent of his generation, but there’s a financial fallout that remains unresolved as he explores legal action over compensation from the game. 

Courier Mail sports guru, Robert ‘Crash’ Craddock, told Bill McDonald, " He was concussed badly as a footballer in his teenage years.

"And the feeling was that may have triggered something that resulted in more concussions.

"There's the psychosomatic part of it where as soon as he got a graze to the head or anything remotely connected with a severe blow, the memories flooded back and the trauma flooded in."

Last night, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Federal Opposition leader Peter Dutton went head-to-head in the first federal election debate.

The Prime Minister has officially been declared the winner, scoring 44 votes from the 100 undecided punters in the room, while Peter Dutton scored 35.

Nine Radio Federal politics editor Michael Pachi told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, "It was a pretty dull affair in the end."

"Neither made any zingers, there was no knockout blow, I saw one analyst calling the debate, having hardly a pulse."

The Crisafulli Government has reached a major milestone in tackling the Housing Crisis, with almost 5,000 social and affordable homes under construction or under contract across Queensland. 

The construction boom is set to boost Queensland’s total social and affordable housing supply by more than 6 per cent. 

Minister for Housing and Public Works Sam O’Connor told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, "We've got the pipeline up to around 5,000. About two-thirds of those are under construction right now, and the rest we are contracting as quickly as we possibly can."

"That's roughly the same amount that the former government delivered in the last decade," The Minister continued.

The economic fallout from Donald Trump’s tariffs continues to send aftershocks through the global markets.

The Unconventional Economist Leith Van Onselen told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, "It's been a bloodbath, last Thursday the market, the ASX200 fell by 0.9%, then we got another 2.4% fall on Friday."

"On the negative side, the most obvious, which I've just alluded to, is that everybody's superannuation savings are going to take a hammering."
