TODAY'S STORIES: The Adventures of Kintaro, the Golden Boy (aka strong kid easily becomes hero) and The Story of the Fourth Quest for the Golden Tube (aka nothing to see here folks).
Kintaro is kind of a classic legend, so it was really interesting to finally read that! I wish there had been some roadblocks or hurdles for him to overcome, and the ending felt kind of thrown in last minute, but it wasn't too bad all things considered. The second one was... not actually very interesting at all unfortunately? The hear about buried treasure and go get it. If you want more details along with the new terms/phrases I learned, common tropes I keep track of, and self-made memes for each of the stories, be sure to check out the blog on my website (I do one for each episode): https://www.f4nextdoor.com/
TODAY'S STORIES: The Duck with Golden Eggs (aka RUN KIDS RUN) and The Golden-Bristled Pig, the Golden-Feathered Duck, and the Golden Maned Mare (aka GOOD LORD PICK SOMETHING SHORTER).
These ones put me through the ringer being that they're both Russian, but it was really just the second story. That is the most confued and frustrated I've been since Aladdin. Read more about why in this episode's blog entry: https://www.f4nextdoor.com/

TODAY'S STORIES: The Golden Goose (aka Ain't Nothing Gonna Break my Stride) and The Golden Bird (aka the most ripped of foxes).
These two had very different plots, but incredibly similar themes, characters, and openings. I think the Golden Goose is something we all know as a fairy tale, but I honestly didn't know anything about this story. Like... seriously ANYTHING. And I've got at least two more episode's worth of gold themed stories to get through, so look forward to that~! And as always, check out my blog for memes, ratings, etc.: https://www.f4nextdoor.com/

TODAY'S STORIES: Ye-Xian (aka: ancient foot fetish), Cinderella (aka Squirrel Girl: the real origin story), and The Golden Slipper (aka Darwin needed to see this).
GodDAMN these were amazing! Ye-Xian is like 2,200 years old and super creative whereas Cinderella and the Golden Slipper were straight up hilarious and perhaps the reason why we should focus more on original content vs remakes. I'm just saying, it's relevant. Read more about why in this episode's blog entry: https://www.f4nextdoor.com/
TODAY'S STORIES: My Lord Bag of Rice (aka: spit shine) and The Tongue-Cut Sparrow (aka: chirp chirp motherfucker).
I looooved these stories! They had refreshing types of characters that displayed traits we haven't seen much in the other stories, namely MANNERS and a sense of kindness/humbleness (mostly). If you wanna see a more in-depth run-down, take a peek through the newest blog entry on my website~ https://www.f4nextdoor.com/
TODAY'S STORIES: Snow White and Rose Red (aka Just the Tip) and Snow White and the Fox (aka UNGRATEFUL GRANDPARENTS). These two were fun, even if the second one was hella short (hat it lacks in length, it makes up for in shittiness). If you want the rundown of what ratings I gave the stories, what new terminology I picked up, the memes I made for each of the stories, and my song recommendation for the week, then definitely stop by my website! Blog should be up here in just a bit.
Be sure to check it out, I'm so proud of it~ https://www.f4nextdoor.com/
