It's semifinals week in most fantasy football leagues - if you're reading this, chances are you either won your first-round matchup last weekend (great!) or had a first-round bye (even better!)  However, past success is no guarantee of future performance in many aspects of life, including fantasy football.  Thanks to untimely injuries, some fantasy teams that breezed through the regular season find themselves having to decide between Easton Stick and Nick Mullens as their starting quarterback for a playoff matchup.  Feeling good about having picked up Keaton Mitchell just in time for the stretch run?  How about having to replace him this week with either Roschon Johnson or Kenneth Gainwell?  Happy to have Ja'Marr Chase back in your starting lineup?  How does having to start Joshua Palmer or Rashid Shaheed sound? Here we are - fantasy football playoff season!  It took lots of savvy team management and (in all likelihood) some degree of good fortune to get your team to the post-season, but there you are.  Even if you're one of the lucky few to have a bye this week, it never hurts to be looking ahead to optimize your lineup for next week.  And for those with first-round playoff matchups this week, hopefully you weren't counting on Justin Herbert or C.J. Last call for those on the bubble of qualifying for their fantasy football league's playoffs!  For the vast majority of leagues this is the final week of the fantasy regular season.  Thankfully, there are only 2 teams on bye this week (Arizona, Washington), so hopefully that won't affect your starting lineup too much, but there are still a number of up-in-the-air quarterback situations, with a good number of injuries thrown in for good measure.  For the last week of the regular season as well as the playoff weeks, paying attention to the NFL schedule and the weather report are just as important as paying attention to the waiver wire.  While neither Jana nor The Sherpa have meteorological degrees, they're both astute enough to be able to read a schedule and figure out which games are either in warm-weather sites, in domes, or both (looking at you, Las Vegas).  At first glance it looks like there could be a number of low-scoring games this week, so don't blindly "start your studs" if they have a bad matchup, when someone on your bench or on the waiver wire may have a more favorable matchup.  Which players fall into this category?

So here we are at Thanksgiving week - how did that happen so quickly?  After this week the NFL regular season will be 2/3 over, and the fantasy football regular season will have just 2 weeks to go for the overwhelming majority of leagues.  Another week of generally low-scoring games - between that and the (in many cases) mediocre to atrocious quarterback play, it's been a real grind this season to put forth a consistent fantasy lineup on a weekly basis.  That makes it more important than ever to consider each week's matchups and most likely game scripts before setting your lineup.  Which teams have favorable matchups this week, and which ones will make your fantasy team wish they were on a bye this week?

With just 4 weeks remaining in most fantasy football leagues' regular season, we're heading into the home stretch!  In all likelihood, there are still a bunch of playoff spots up for grabs in your league, so now's the time to either solidify your grip on a spot, or claw your way through the thicket of contending teams to secure your golden ticket!  

That said, the fantasy landscape looks a lot different now than it did 2-3 months ago when you did your fantasy draft, especially at the quarterback position.  Due to a combination of injuries and bad performances (or in Daniel Jones' case, both), a number of highly touted QB options have fallen short of expectations.  Other options have exceeded expectations (looking at you, Jared Goff), and even an overlooked rookie has been among the best QBs fantasy-wise (and real life-wise) in recent weeks (C.J. Stroud, of course).  Should you stream QBs and play matchups?  Or just trust your best option will be reasonably consistent from week to week?

Happy (day after) Election Day!  Many Americans are already looking ahead to the 2024 elections, but that's no reason to ignore the 2023 elections.  Similarly, we've reached the point in the fantasy football season where it's easy to look ahead and lose focus on the only thing that you can control in the short run - your team's lineup for the next game in front of you.  Sure, if you're still undefeated and are already eyeing the top seed in your league's playoffs, or if you're at the bottom of the standings and already looking forward to your league's 2024 draft next summer, it's more understandable if you aren't focused on what's right in front of you.  However, for the vast majority of us, the remaining 5 weeks of the fantasy regular season still matter - either we're working to improve our likely playoff seeding, we're scratching and clawing just to make our league's playoffs, or we're looking forward to playing spoiler (both from a personal satisfaction standpoint and a league integrity standpoint).  With 4 good-to-very-good teams on bye this week, there's a great chance you'll need to fill at least one hole in your lineup this week (maybe more), regardless of your place in the standings.  Which waiver wire adds can help you get a step closer to your goal (whatever it is)?

Where have all the quarterbacks gone (long time passing)?  The list of quarterbacks drafted in fantasy football leagues who've now been knocked out (either for the season or an extended period of time) now includes Aaron Rodgers, Anthony Richardson, Daniel Jones, Deshaun Watson, and Kirk Cousins.  Those in questionable health, with questionable holds on their starting positons, or with byes this week include Jared Goff, Trevor Lawrence, Matthew Stafford, Kenny Pickett, Desmond Ridder, and Baker Mayfield.  All this is to say that there's a good chance that either your starting quarterback or your bench version will be unavailable this week.  Fortunately, there are a number of good replacement options widely available on waivers, but which ones will be your best bets?
