According to the World Health Organisation, South Africa has the sixth highest rate of suicide in Africa, with the data revealing that approximately 11.6 of every 100 000 people in the country commit suicide.

Some of the celebrity suicides we've reported on include US comedian Robin Williams, just last week Mac Miller. The super talented Avicci also took his own life.

We reported on chef Anthony Bordain. Former Spice Girl Mel B tried taking her life twice. The rock star Chester Bennington of Linkin Park also took his own life.

Then if we look locally, rape activist and law student Khensani Maseko and the very accomplished Professor Bongani Mayosi.

The list just goes on and on.

Today may be World Suicide Prevent Day, but this is something that needs to be spoken about and addressed every single day. #GoodeMorning
