About Ken: At a young age he studied Buddhism and Taoism in his teens with his father.
In his teens, he wanted to find a solution to mental health for humanity.
Thought going into the field of psychology would be a good idea.
Masters and a Ph.D. in Psychology
Covered as much of the field as I could.
Realised he did not know enough about life to help people, so Ken went into business and had quite a few successful startups one that he even sold to Starbucks for a significant amount of money.
Knew what success was (since the success in the business world), so felt mediocre in his psychology practice.
Got really depressed, so decided to give up the field altogether and go back to business.
My friend and colleague Paul got happy. That pissed me off.
Went with him to this guy Sidney Banks and learned about how the mind actually works. Nothing in psychology had pointed to this yet.
What I learned the principles that I teach now.
Found the explanation how consciousness and thought together actually work.
I studied psychology for 23 y and never learned that the essence is actually very simple.
I began teaching what I saw to my clients.
Instead of using very complicated therapeutic strategies and processes I just taught people about the mind and how it works and thought is not how it works.
I killed my business within a couple months beaches people did not need me anymore!
But…I have been overwhelmed with business ever since. My friends sent me everybody they knew.
This is 26 y ago.
I realized people only need to know how the mind works on a basic level.
Explanation about how the mind works:
Thought is the process within the mind that shapes what we are receiving every moment. And then the mind and counciousness take that shaping process and makes it seam real to us.
We imagine things all the time.
Thought shaping an experience, and the mind creating a realness with that imagining and then the body following.
Happening every single second of our lives whether we are aware of it or not.
Can we control our thinking?
For the ordinary person: give it up!
We don’t control most of our thinking. We are in a river of thought.
We have a little bit control. We have the hand on the head of the boat. But we are not controlling the river by controlling the boat a little bit.
What to do when you are in fear or stress?
There are things to do.
