A leper comes to Jesus begging to be healed. Nothing could be more devasting than constantly being an outcast. Moved with compassion, Jesus agrees and heals him. So often, we say we're too busy for God. Too busy to pray, too busy to study, too busy to be still. We have people constantly seeking our attention, which seems like too much. This is exactly where Jesus was in Mark 1:35-39, and he shows us what to do. What helps him recharge and be ready for the attention demanded of him.

Today we're in Mark 1:29-34 where we see the healing miracle of Christ for our homes and communities for the first time. Jesus just left the synagogue and is on the way to Simon and Andrew's house. In Mark 1:21-28 Jesus goes toe to toe with a demon who tries to claim authority over him, but it's not allowed. Jesus has sovereignty over the power of darkness and reigns supreme. He has come to restore.
