5 Minutes With Markie

Dede Frain is the creator and promoter of First Friday.  It's the largest monthly women's party in America.  We talked about how this party was created and the lost art of thank you notes. 

Erik is celebrating his 11 year anniversary at Tracks.  Recently I caught up with him to chat about the history of Tracks and what inspired him to be a part of the Tracks family. 

Jackie Summers has been a drag performer in the Colorado LGBTQ scene for over 25 years.  We talk about some of the places she's performed, who's been a mentor to her and the legacy she is crafting. 

Karen is the Executive Director and Clinical Director at the Gender Identity Center of Colorado.  We talked about the complicated questions and language around gender identity and about the the important work she and others are doing at the GIC of Colorado.  

Jerry Cunningham has been the owner and publisher of Out Front since 2012.  Jerry and Markie discuss the importance of what Out Front does from a historical standpoint that you support their advertisers.

Onyx is a performer and activist for the LGBT community in Denver.  She's an organizer for Denver Dyke March which is coming up on June 17th.  The rally begins at 1 p.m. sharp at Blush n Blu on Colfax.  She's also contributed to many other great causes in the community.  Find out more.  Take a listen!
