We as a nation spend billions of dollars on whimsical military projects and nation building, while neglecting the very citizens right here at home. Rome fell from the inside out because it forgot about the very least of them that needed pivotal resources to survive. I am enthralled and the citizens of Flint are happy with this philanthropic effort by Jaden and his family. But why should tax payers and the residents of Flint who are still forcibly paying for led water have to have an outsider to come in and be the redeeming grace. What happened to government. Was there a total lapse in judgement? Did the system totally fail? We hear you Flint, But are we listening?

There is a lot a truth to this, but along with a great microphone, you also need a pop filter and of course the software to record your episodes onto your computer. So---here’s a hint, you can literally go on amazon.com today and be up and ready to star your five minute show by Monday for less than $100. 1. Blue Microphone ( This is what I use). It is a great microphone and can be used for a multitude of things. 2. Pop Filter (this helps with voice breath noise reduction). You will be surprised by the amount of breathing that happens when we talk. Well--we can't help this. But we can reduce it. 3. Leapic audio editor (this program is free) You an use it in its entirety for free and after a few weeks you will get the hang of it.  If you are a techy person, maybe a lot sooner than that. I maybe migrating to another platform because this software does crash alot. Which gets annoying, otherwise if you are on a shoe-string budget this is certainly a great option. Finally I have recorded all of my episodes thus far in my walk-in closet. When you are starting out like myself and you have no sponsors for your show i.e. money. You have to do what you have to do, find yourself a quiet place that you can record quality podcast episodes. Your audience wouldn’t even know it.

:60 This is My Struggle With Acid Reflux

At the sprie age of fourteen, a tingling, burning sensation had occurred down my throat. It went from my throat to my stomach and back. Well, this was my first introduction to acid-reflux. It’s a disease that millions of Americans like myself suffer from on a daily basis. Some have minor bouts of acid-reflux. Others, like me, it was a little more acute. The acid bothered me so bad that I went from Tums, Malox, Ranitidine all  the way to Prilosec for at least five to seven years as an adult. At the time I had no idea about the side effects, I just knew it helped me feel better, and I only had to take it once a day. Well--here’s my story.

One day out of the blue a panic ensued at the age of twenty-five. I being a young healthy male woke up in a deep sweat and my heart racing as fast as a ‘bullet train’ at least in my mind. Lord knows I thought I was having a heart-attack. Couldn’t be. I was just playing full-court basketball a day or so before. Well, I was rushed in an ambulance to the hospital, and the doctors did as many test as they deemed necessary for my heart. They found nothing. My heart was normal, an ‘athlete’s’ heart they said. Over the years this issue had ensued and robbed me of some nights and put me into a state of perpetual fear of death and the unknown. It wasn’t till I started doing some research till I realized that this little purple pill was to true burglar. It was a great way to eat all I wanted without the acidic side effects.

But prilosec, which has a class action lawsuit against it, was taking my essential minerals from my body. I had to take magnesium supplements, coq10 and eat alot of bananas. The verdict was in, prilosec was doing more harm than good. Not to mention the devastating effect it can do to your kidneys and bones over time. Before I was taking prilosec, I could eat chocolate like nobody's business. While taking Prilosec I could not eat chocolate or any caffeinated beverages. My life felt like it was in a stalemate at many times. I was always living with the thought of another panic attack ensuing. Needless to say, I decided to take some real actions. I tried to ditch prilosec a few times, but after a few ‘acid attacks’ I went running back to the box of pills. This time in October 2018 was different. I did my research and realized that even if I had an internal acid attack, that I would have to fight the battle for my life. I would have to change my diet a little, eat better foods and give my body a chance to heal from prilosec.

Most importantly my body needed to be naturally alkaline. Studies have shown that the majority of cancers and diseases in the human body occur because the body is too acidic. Prilosec did not make my body alkaline. No--it just delayed the acid in the gut and prevented it from pumping the way it

Well---I’m sure some do. But it's hard to think about the Mueller Report, when you are thinking about the police report filed just because you were driving while black. Now let's get to it. The over two year old investigation into whether or not President Donald J. Trump and his allies and or campaign officials had colluded with the Russians. Well--a few pages released by the new attorney general says that President Trump did not collude with the Russians in election meddling. It did not say that the Russians did not try and meddle with our elections. It's also key to note that the report suggest, but is not concrete with the fact that Donald Trump may have obstructed justice.

As far as Robert Mueller is concerned, the witch hunt is over. As far as the new powers the democrats have over the House of representatives, the hunt is just getting started. Whether they find witches, warlocks and green men, well that will be up for debate. For now, Donald Trump’s camp will spin this small victory as best they can.

What is Justice. What is a crime? There is a blurred line in our country between what is right, and what is severely wrong. Those that are the powerful seek more of it, those that have ess than. Well-- they lose it. This is also biblical my friends. All in all what the Mueller report tells us about US as a nation is that we are all inherently flawed and more divided than ever.

Are you surprised by the verdict that Antwon Rose’s murder is walking away scott free. Yep, you heard that right. I’m going to call it what it is. MURDER.  Like the bloody scenes you see in a Quentin Tarantino movie, or the latest war report on CNN. Antwon Rose, another unarmed black teen, gone to soon by one of the few bad apples in the Pittsburg Police Department.Michael Rosfeld, a white ex-East Pittsburgh police officer, fatally shot 17-year-old Antwon on June 19, 2018, as the teenager fled a traffic stop in East Pittsburgh. A jury acquitted Rosfeld on all charges Friday. As cited by NewsOne.com

If you were like me this weekend, rushing through  the sea of black people just so you can see Jordan Peele’s newest movie Us. Now I know what you are thinking, didn’t he just talk about this movie in the last episode. Correct. But I didn’t get to speak about the box-office numbers that were just released on Sunday to the tune of a stellar $70 million dollars over three days. This movie was indeed a great production by Jordan Peele and the entire cast. I give the movie an A rating.

Every year Hollywood executives and pundits all ask themselves. Can a film with a majority black cast be a winner at the box-office. Well--- time and time again black actors, directors and producers have proved them wrong. In a big way… And black audiences have always attended and supported great content. Not just because of a black cast, because believe me we have seen some black movies that haven’t done that well. They have supported films that have great content like ‘Black Panther’ and movies that make you think like ‘Get Out”. Black people are not a monolith. We don’t just watch gansta and ‘hood’ movies. While ‘Straight Out of Compton’ was an example of a great theatrical production and a very well told storyline that saw great box-office success for Universal Studios. The same studio that has produced Get-Out and Us. Universal as a distributor has also released a few Kevin Hart features. Clearly they understand the benefits of being in the business of black movies. Universal Studios is wholly owned by Comcast.

Its more of a psychological thriller for which you have to see more than once. Although i don’t believe the movie to be scary to me. The black woman sitting to the right of me jumped and screamed at everything. So—-what does Us say about us?
