5 Steps to Help You Price Your Services
I’m always being asked how someone should price their services. There are no hard and fast rules. It’s not “charge your worth”, “market price” or “pick a number”. I wanted to share with you these 5 things to consider that will help you define YOUR pricing.
Charge Your Worth
I detest hearing this. Worth is contextual and subjective. I’ll give you my definition.
What Lifestyle Do You Want?
So many people don’t think about the longer game. They’re stuck in “I just need… the next client/enough to/to pay the..”. And it’s really hard to break that thinking.
Thinking longer term, about the lifestyle you want for you and your family is essential.
What Kind Of Clients Do You Want?
Would you except a different level of service between Harrods and Walmart? Why? And what happens when you apply that to your customers?
What kind of clients is your pricing attracting?
Try Different Outfits On
Another pet hate is, “just double your rates”. Yes, I’ve said this a couple of times but as a general rule, it’s not something I advocate. Learn to be comfortable with stepping in to the next outfit, getting comfortable and then moving on to the next one.
Set The Price Then Build The Value
This is something one of my mentors taught me. Pick the price and then make sure you build the value in to match.
