1. Have everything prepared and ready in advance so that you can welcome and greet your online guests as they arrive. 
2. Position your head near the top of the video frame so that you can communicate with body language and gestures, not just words. 
3. Raise up your computer so that the camera is at eye level.
4. Use an external mic.
5. Don't sit with a window or other light source behind you. The light should be in front of you, illuminating your face.
