15 year old African American, Latasha Harlins, was shot and killed after being falsely accused of stealing a bottle of orange juice in Los Angeles, California in 1991.

Her killer, Korean-born Soon Ja Du, was the convenience store owner of "Empire Liquor Market Deli" and was never imprisoned for the crime, sparking outrage in the US and being one of the reasons behind the LA riots of ‘92.
