Netflix might have their new top movie of all time on their hands at the moment with the animated film "KPop Demon Hunters," which is already sparking plenty of conversation and interpretation. Some are trying to read Christian themes into it, while others see New Age undertones, and many are pulling out their own spiritual takeaways. But the director has made it clear: this isn't a story drawn from the Bible or generic mysticism. The inspiration comes directly from Korean shamanistic mythology, a system rooted in occult rituals and spirit worship. He goes as far as to claim that Jesus "ran with prostitutes" specifically accusing Mary Magdalene of being one. August 01, 2025 Brandon Lake And Steven Furtick: The Cost Of Compromise
Brandon Lake is one of the biggest names in the contemporary Christian music scene. His hit song Hard Fought Hallelujah has only boosted his mainstream popularity, especially after teaming up with the wildly successful Jelly Roll. Some see the collaboration as a compromise, others as an opportunity to reach the lost. But in a recent interview with Jelly Roll, it seems Brandon Lake may be taking a page out of his friend and co songwriter Stephen Furtick's playbook using Scripture out of context to soften the blow of the gospel message. Furtick once told Charlamagne the God that Jesus's words in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life" weren't exclusive but actually inclusive. Now, Lake, in similar fashion, tells JellyRoll that Jesus built his church on homosexuals and adulterers who didn't receive grace. Is this the truth wrapped up in compassion? Or is this compromise dressed up as outreach?
