Today is Alia’s story. She begins speaking about her experience of getting pregnant at 17 years old and even though she was young in age she was very well supported by her family.

Alia had a bit of awareness about hospital birthing but she didn’t have the understanding of what it meant to advocate for herself throughout her birth process.

A few years later, after spending time on “the Farm”, Alia found a passion for Doula work and began her career supporting women in birth. From that point on she new exactly how she wanted to birth any future children into the world — in the comfort of her own home.

Alia had her first birth, free of the system, on an Airforce base and then her second birth, which was with her daughter, in the same way.
