I resist the urge to jump in when a young manager asks for help because the only way he’ll learn what to fix is by learning what to look for.

Your growth is tied to your hands on experience. When you’re doing or seeing something new, don’t be so quick to ask for help. Sitting in the tension to figure it out will give you the experience to learn to “see” differently as well as tame the voices screaming Mayday! Abort! In your head.
