On Sunday we created some sacred space in our gathering to reflect on Memorial Day as well as to mourn and pray and sing and respond with our hearts to the tragic shooting last week in Uvalde, TX.
Sometimes to mourn is the only thing that makes sense. But we’re also learning and trusting that in these moments of crying out, God’s loving and guiding us forward with grace and wisdom and hope and comfort.
On this Memorial Day, as we all remember the sacrifices of so many, may we also be reminded of the words of Jesus from the beatitudes: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
