With the 4th of July just around the corner, Steve, Rich, and Sarah take some time to discuss Independence Day and how Christians can think about and respond to it. The conversation begins with favorite memories, family traditions, and what makes this summer holiday special.

As with many topics, there can be extremes, and Christians can sometimes get caught up in them. Rich highlights that the values of freedom and individual liberty are good gifts that believers can rightly appreciate and celebrate. These freedoms have also allowed America to be one of the primary sending nations for missionaries sharing the Gospel around the world.

At the same time, our ultimate allegiance is not to a country, but to Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. Drawing from Philippians 3:20–21, the team discusses what it means to live as citizens of heaven first. True Christianity must not only work in America, it must transcend culture and nation, flourishing in every corner of the world. Steve expands on this idea, reminding believers that following Jesus and living on mission should shape our identity above all else.
