After getting a law and arts degree at Auckland University, Stallone Vaiaoga-Ioasa opted to pursue a career in filmmaking; he found law just a little "too exciting".  Utilising a decades worth of experience making television — including various roles on Tagata Pasifika — he wrote and directed self-funded movie Three Wise Cousins in 2015, Hibiscus and Ruthless in 2018 and Take Home Pay in 2019.

Now after a challenging year for the film industry Stallone and his team have managed to complete a feature film in 30 days.

Mama's Music Box will be out in cinema's on the 10th December 2020

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that kicked off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day. It was started by activists at the inaugural Women’s Global Leadership Institute in 1991 and continues to be coordinated each year by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership. 

Her professional and academic background has involved advocating for the promotion of economic development, social, and employment interests of marginalised groups particularly women, Pacific people, learners and young people. Saunoamaali’i holds qualifications in social work, social policy, mediation and science, including a PhD in public policy from AUT.

Dan Leo is a former Samoan international rugby player who was born in New Zealand to Samoan parents and 39 caps for Manu Samoa between 2005 and 2014 when he was dropped from the team for asking questions of Samoan Rugby Union about the management of hundreds of thousands of pounds most of which was raised by public donations.

In an attempt to find understand why Samoa, Tonga and Fiji’s international sides continue to struggle to perform at top level despite the undoubted talent pool as their disposal Dan Leo set out to find answers in a documentary called Oceans Apart, Greed, Betrayal and Pacific Rugby.

MIT is the largest provider of the Trades Academy scheme in New Zealand which introduces students to vocational pathways while still at school strengthening their transition to employment or further study.

The scheme has been growing year-on-year. In 2019 there were 820 places at MIT for both Trades Academy students and for those from the MIT School of Secondary Tertiary Studies. This year there were 1,048.

Last night, the achievements of 95 graduates were recognized including fifteen winners of the Prime Minister’s Award for Vocational Excellence.

Jethro Puia is a musician from the Bellona province in the Solomon Islands.  

Traditional Melanesian music in the Solomon Islands includes both group and solo vocals with slit drum and panpipe ensembles.  With time modern influences have given rise to various kinds of rock and reggae as well as something known as island music with a guitar and ukulele ensemble format influenced by Polynesian and Christian music.

Jethro has featured in songs with fellow musicians like Jahboy and Sean Rii with You’re My Medicine.  He has music on rotation with Paoa FM.  He recently released songs in Vagahau Niue like  He Aho Nei and Kautu he Lagi.

Mikaira Pau is of Maori and Cook Islands Pukapukan descent.  He is a community leader, influencer, indigenous educator and practitioner.

He is perhaps better known as Mike Pau, one quarter of the popular Jamoa Jam quartet formed about twenty years ago.  Mikaira now lives in Ahipara in the far north with his Samoan partner Lotomua and their five children.

Mikaira is also a business owner and director of The Whanau Channel Limited.

The 16 Days of Activism Campaign against violence against women and girls began in Fiji yesterday. The campaign started on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and ends on December 10, which is the International Human Rights Day.

The Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre's coordinator is Shamima Ali who joined the centre months after the centre was established back in 1984.

International and multiple award-winning Tenor, Benjamin Makisi has returned from London and will perform 3 shows in the lead up to Christmas 2020. 

The PARE Group of Wellington, have teamed with Makisi to host shows in Wellington, Auckland and Porirua, from late November to early December, a preview to a possible tour in 2021.

Benjamin Fifita Makisi was born in Wellington, NZ and is of Tongan and Samoan descent. He began singing at a young age with the Tongan Wesley Methodist church choir in Wellington. 

He has performed Opera internationally with various Opera companies, however one of his major highlights was performing alongside Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and with Dame Malvina Major, Sir Donald McIntyre and the Late Sir Howard Morrison.  He had also sung for the State funeral of Sir Edmund Hillary which was broadcast globally.
