Researchers developed a
cell-type-specific lysosomal atlas of the brain using
LysoIP and proteomics. They identified
SLC45A1 as a critical
lysosomal glucose transporter in neurons. Its absence impairs
lysosomal acidity, V-ATPase assembly, and metabolic recycling, linked to disease.
