This study identifies a
neuroimmune loop linking the heart and brain after
myocardial infarction. The circuit involves
sensory vagus neurons, the
hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus, and the
superior cervical ganglia. Interrupting this loop reduces inflammation and scarring.
