Sergey Baranov is the author of ‘PATH’, a book that will be of interest to any spiritual seeker who seeks honesty above all else.
Living in various countries and growing up in different cultures, Sergey gained an understanding of the essential, a core commonality of human experience that lies beneath the differences to be found in every culture. By walking different paths and seeing through their limitations, Sergey found shamanism as a unifying path for all people regardless of their cultural background.
By following his heart and intuition, Sergey was led to find his home outside of western industrial consumerist culture, which is largely a pathological society because its central values are based on a limited understanding of reality that is predominantly materialistic in and of itself in it’s fundamental denial of human consciousness – a fact that contributes to the madness we see in the world that is drowning in a pool of electromagnetic and chemical pollution together with such dangerous technologies as genetic manipulation and the ongoing attempt to merge humanity with machines.

Working with the sacred Huachuma cactus he uncovered an ancient way of celebrating the gift of life through a deep connection to the natural environment and the cosmos. Huachuma is a Quechua word for a columnar cactus most commonly known as San Pedro (Trichosereus Peruviana), which is evidently related to the Peyote cactus of Mexico and North America.

Sergey’s spiritual path has become his means of livelihood by doing what he loves and introducing others to an ancient healing sacrament, which grows naturally in the high Andean environment in which he has made his home.

Huachuma-shamanism has been found to be practiced in different forms. Sergey’s orientation comes from his receiving inspiration from a deep ancient cultural stream whose center is at the enigmatic temple of Chavin de Huantar, which could be seen as the American equivalent of Eleusis in ancient Greece where deep spiritual initiation took place. It is located within the highest energetic influence of the peruvian Cordillera Blanca that contains some of the loftiest peaks of the entire Andean mountain chain. Sergey’s work with Huachuma includes some significant elements from Chavin de Huantar, acting as an anchor into this profound ancient mystery maintaining its presence beneath the veneer of modern Peru.
Sergey conducts monthly retreats and offers special Huachuma journeys in some of the most ancient and sacred sites in Peru and Bolivia. Sergey’s work with Huachuma may be perceived as an intimate and personal encounter with an ancient stream of healing energies as opposed to mass-market ‘’mystical’’ tourism.
This work, among other things, is an opportunity to see your life from a higher perspective and recognize personal issues that need to be addressed, such as one’s involvement in a toxic relationship, which can have an impact on personal health. Sergey’s website is www.shamansworld.org
