This group consists of an ethnic mixture of the Seminole Indigenous tribe, escaped slaves, and free Africans that originated in Florida starting in the 1600s. Today, the remnants of Black Seminoles live primarily in Oklahoma, and took part in the Trail of Tears. Learn even more by listening!
