Today's message we're going to be taking a look at Jesus's first son, now in the Scriptures, a sign has two primary purposes. One to authenticate the person who he says he is who he says. So in this case authenticating that Jesus is the Messiah. The son of God the 2nd is that it authenticates the message of that person and so in this message we're going to take a look at that very first sign that Jesus performs.

“The Beginning of Signs”

John 2:1 & 2 Jesus, His mother and disciples are invited to a wedding

John 2:3 A problem arises – the wine runs out. Jesus’ mother wants Him to intercede

John 2:4 Jesus, in essence, says it’s not My problem

John 2:5 Jesus’ mother tells the servants to do what Jesus tells them to do

John 2:6 & 7 Jesus tells the servants to fill 6 water pots with between 120 – 180 gallons of water

John 2:8 Jesus tells the servants to draw some water out and take it to the head waiter

John 2:9 & 10 The water turned into excellent wine

John 2:11 This sign was the beginning of signs which clearly showed His glory and His disciples beleived
