A fellow pioneer woman joins me today! And she is f-ing delightful.
Emilie Hoyt is the founder and CEO of LATHER, one of the first, if not the first, beauty and personal care companies to focus on clean ingredients and synthetic-free fragrances.
Long before the emergence of the "clean beauty" movement, Emilie endured severe migraines, occasionally impairing her vision, and after exhaustive research, she discovered that her personal care products were the likely trigger. One dangerous ingredient stood out among the rest: synthetic fragrance, otherwise known as toxic, petroleum-based compounded chemicals that are permitted to be used in 95% of beauty products.
Lather was born in 1999, before the internet, y'all! Hats off to founders blazing trails.
