Jackson’s path has been anything but a straight line, literally and figuratively. Born and raised in South Dakota and educated in North Dakota, Jackson eventually swapped the Great Plains for the vibrant streets of Montreal to pursue a Master’s in piano.

Growing up in a conservative environment where being gay was often whispered about rather than celebrated, Jackson navigated his coming-out journey in his teens, finding unexpected strength in his peers. Today, he joins us to reflect on his roots with refreshing lightness, a bit of North Country grit, and plenty of humor.
